Dear Church Family,

Unfortunately, the COVID 19 pandemic is not entirely over.  With the Delta variant spreading it’s time to once again consider taking steps for the health and safety of our congregation.  With several of us falling into the high-risk category, Session and I want to encourage the use of masks and continued social distancing while inside our building with larger groups of people.

I realize this may feel like a “set-back” in many ways, but I’m encouraged by how far we’ve come and how resilient our church continues to be! Not too long ago our entire campus was shut down for months on end.  Many of us were sequestered to our homes for extended periods of time, sometimes experiencing loneliness and isolation.  Today there’s hardly an hour that goes by where there isn’t some kind of activity here on our church campus.  From recovery groups to music lessons to youth meetings to Deacons busying themselves in the service of our community to friends dropping in at the office just to say “Hi.”  On top of that our larger Durango community has come alive again!

We have many things for which to be grateful, and yet we’ve still got some distance to cover with this pandemic.  Therefore, I am asking you all, my dear church family, to be encouraged by all that we’ve gained, grown, and learned, and request that we all continue to protect our most vulnerable as we press on during the remainder of this pandemic season.

Grace and Peace,

Beau
