La Plata County Foster Caregivers Needed. Please consider your possible role

On behalf of La Plata County’s Foster Care Program

We would like your church know that we have an urgent need for foster parents. Foster parents provide a valuable service in our local community. They have the opportunity to come alongside families who are struggling and have safety concerns related to meeting the basic needs of their children. The first goal of foster care is always to try and assist families in bolstering their supports and learning new skills to be able to safely reunify with their children. In the event that reunification is not successful, then we speak with the child’s/children’s foster family about adoption.

We kindly ask that you consider making this need known amongst your congregation members.  If you have individuals in your church who are interested, please feel free to have them contact us directly to discuss the certification

We appreciate your time and your efforts in helping our community. Thank you.
