Adult Sunday School starting November 9 – New Class on “The Welcoming Church” Led by Bill Postler

Adult Sunday School

On November 9 and 16 Bill Postler will be leading a two-part Sunday School Class on “The Welcoming Church.”

Nov. 9         “The Care and Feeding of a New Pastor”

The Pastor Nominating Committee has been working hard to find our next pastor. Rumor has it that they are at the point of interviewing a few possible finalists. That means we could have a new pastor sometime early next year. Bill will talk about his own experiences as a brand-new pastor and how congregations can set the tone for that relationship in the first few months.

Nov. 16       “The Welcoming Church”

While the new pastor will have a significant impact on our church’s future, a pastor cannot do it alone. Our church will not be here long term if we don’t grow over the next few years. How do churches grow? One of the common characteristics of growing churches is the sense of “welcome” new folks feel when they visit the church. What does that look like? How can we be more “welcoming” as a church and congregation?
