Letter from Pastor John Welton

Dear Members and Friends,

This Holiday Weekend we will look at a national celebration for the chosen people. In Nehemiah 8 we have a scene of the house of David, priestly class, and people all together in Jerusalem. They hear the words of the Torah and then celebrate as a people their religious freedom.  They then go home to eat meat and drink sweet wine (much like a Fourth of July BBQ). This marks the moment in time when all of society is united. When all of God’s people renew their identity and faithfulness to God. So let us this week remember our identity as Christians in this place. May we give thanks that we can celebrate our faith in this land free of danger. Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend.

Peace,

Pastor John
