A FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR THE DEACONS EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FUND
Save the date! After church on Sunday, November 16, the deacons and the mission team will be hosting a Mission Fair. In previous years, we hosted a dessert extravaganza to raise funds for the Deacon’s Emergency Assistance Fund. This fund provides emergency financial assistance for people’s basic needs in times of crisis. Both church members and community members have benefitted from this fund, so please give generously!
This year’s event, in addition to raising funds for the emergency fund, will also provide an opportunity to learn about our partner community organizations who provide important services to people in our community. We support them financially as a church and we want you to know about the valuable work they do.
Come by Westminster Hall after worship on November 16 to learn about Volunteers of America, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club of La Plata County, Manna Soup Kitchen, Durango Food Bank, Durango Adaptive Sports Association, Durango Adult Education Center, and Neighbors in Need Alliance. These organizations are recipients of our church’s local mission giving which is only possible because of your faithful pledges, tithes and offerings to our church.
