Good morning Adventurers! Geni and I scouted the pinned route for Saturday yesterday (Wed 10/1) on a truly spectacular afternoon. Some scenes follow.
From last year:
As it stands right now, all the weather forecasts are predicting rain starting Friday afternoon/evening and lasting through the day on Saturday. However, one of my favorite sayings is,”If we were as right as often as the Weather Channel, we would all be broke!” So, please check your emails on Friday afternoon after 4:00 for any updates from me. I will always be grateful for any moisture so whatever comes will be welcome, even if we cancel the hike. Hiking at altitude in rain is not safe.

Happy Autumn, everyone!
We are still planning on finding fall colors on 10/4/25! Our plan is to meet at FPC at 9:00 am and carpool to the trailhead. We believe that this hike can accommodate any style and will be no further than 4 miles. The Trailhead will be just past the Cascade Creek sharp curve on US 550 on the west side of the highway. If someone only wants to hike a couple of hundred yards and enjoy colors, they will be able to do that. Just bring a folding chair and a good book. We should be down from the hike before noon, but water and snacks would definitely be in order.
Geni and I will be at FPC before 9:00. Gary and Cathy will be out of town. Anyone who wishes to meet us north of town should concentrate on PJ’s on Trimble Lane, please contact us BEFORE Saturday morning and we can stop and pick you up.
